I used the pen tool to warp each tooth.

I used the Hue tool and drew over the hair changing her hair to the color I chose.

I cropped out the middle of the eye and changed the  color balance of the eye.

We had to go out and take pictures of the enviroment that looked like the letters of our name, then we assssembled the letters in photoshop.

NAME PROJECT:

Understanding Distance and Proportion:

In this project we took 3 different images each one represetning either foregorund (a close detailed picture), middlegorund (a photo that has detail but is somewhat blurry), and background (the last picture that has little to no texture). We took these pictures in photoshop and put them together to represent distance and proportion.

Teacher Creature Project:

Project Reflection-

First off in the project I brainstormed what pictures I was going to use. I chose to make my teacher creature my advisor, Kyle Edmonson. In the beginning of the year we gave your advisor the nickname of Quail and were his whales, so I contributed that into my project. I put Kyles face onto a beached whale in the forest, I changed the sky, changed the lake water, I photoshopped a yacht into the water, I then put a quail on the whales back, I put Kyles face onto the quail too, I then removed the beak and over lapped it onto Kyles face and quail body.

Self Portrait:

In this project we had to create a self protriat.  A self-portrait is a representation of an artist, drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by the artist. In my portrait I use cracked lines to represent how right now as a teenager your life falls apart while its still coming together. The "Fog" represents how through all this frustration and this crazy world your mind gets foggy and lost. In this I stand out in this picture, Im colorful while the background black and white. The reason this is, is because most of the time I stand out Im colorful while the world dark, Im the fruitloop in a box of cheerios, I can and will make anyone or anything around me shine even if they dont know that they can or do. The quote "Inhale Confidence. Exhale Doubt." is a saying that really gets me through the day. Its saying inhale yourself and all the glad things then exhale all the negative and lost items. That quote personally reflects on me because Im given a lot of doubt saying I cant do something but seeing others working their way to be better, it  gives me the confidence knowing that I can do something great.

Illustrator:

Political Cartoon:

For this project we were supposed to use illustrator to portray either the inhumane ways of Sea World or the fair ways of Sea World. For my political cartoon I tried to portray my belief that Seaworld is holding these whales in a inhumane way. In the picture above an orca whale is entertaining the crowd in front of him. The whale is wearing a suit and he is saying,"Ladies and Gentleman! I am here for your entertainment!" The reason the whale is saying this is to show that the whales are here mainly for the entertainment of people. They are not there to live a happy life.

This is the illustrator project. What we did was take our prehistoric drawing, scanned it into the computer and then we put it into illustrator. Once in illustrator we changed the threshold of the image trace we chose. The first image is the black and white, the  second image is line trace, the third image is the original image, the fourth image is a silhouette image, the fifth is a sketched art trace, and the six is the technical trace. Doing this project gave us the necessary skills to change the same image to look different. If you are wondering what Illustrator is, Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. Vector images are images that can easily be resized to any size it needs to be.

Reflection-

How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication?  Art can be used for communication because for some people words don't come easily, but the work of art does. Some people write to voice their opinions but others paint or draw. People can express themselves, their feelings and their emotions through their art and thats someones way of telling people how they feel.

What problem-solving skills are employed in making works of art? Working in art you can overcome things such as writers block (In this case artist block) and you can overcome the issue of critical thinking. Artist block is where you can't find an inspiration you're stuck on what to create. In art we must search and look for some inspiration until we find it. We critical think when we have an inspiration but aren't quite sure how to incorporate it into the art piece.

Why do Artists Produce Preliminary Plans? (sketches, brainstorms, storyboards, etc?) Just like in writing you have an outline or in science you have a hypothesis, in art you need a plan. Without the plan there would be messups, confusion, and chaos. When you plan something out it becomes smoother to work. Having a plan lets you know what to did, its a sense of direction.

How can an artist create works of art through combining, expanding, and sequencing? Art can be made through combining in photoshop. You can add photos, add drawing and sketches. Combining pieces of art makes the piece itself come to life and makes it unique. Sequencing in art can be made in flash by putting a sequence of stop animation photos together and creating a video that all your own.

How is art used in everyday life? Art can be used in everyday life though advertising, graffiti work, paintings in restaurants. Art work can be used to find something in yourself that you didn't know was there. Presents, decorations, and so much more incorporates art in others lives.
